The waist support should be accompanied by instructions for use by the doctor and the manufacturer or both. These instructions may include information about wearing the brace and cleaning and maintaining the waist support.
Many waist supports are specifically designed for the needs and body of the patient. If worn incorrectly, it may cause further injury and aggravate pain.
Follow the steps below to put on the waist support:
• Wrap the support frame around the back, with the wings resting on the sides of the torso
• Connect both ends to the abdomen
• Adjust the tightness and pressure of the bracket; usually, use the two pull tabs on both sides of the bracket for small adjustments
You can also avoid pain when putting on the brace by putting the brace on the chair first.
It is usually necessary to wear clothes under the support to minimize the thorns to the skin, and a shirt made of soft cotton fabric can prevent irritation.
